    Stalker

You won’t notice her until she gets close — and hits you in the back.

    Description

Stalker is a weak specimen that appears on every wave except the first. Its key advantage is the ability to become invisible, letting it sneak up on inattentive players.

    Behavior

    • Moves fairly quickly
    • Invisible until it attacks
    • Scratches with claws

    Combat tactics

You can often detect a Stalker by sound. Also, even when invisible, attentive players may spot its silhouette.

Commandos can see Stalkers from a certain distance, and killing them is required for leveling that perk.

On higher difficulties the Stalker is a far deadlier ambusher:

    • She is harder to see and hear, and grows stealthier the higher the difficulty.
    • A hit from behind is especially nasty — it punches straight through your armor and deals double damage, and it shakes your view.
    • If you are facing her up close, she can leap right over you to land behind your back.
    • She keeps moving while she strikes, and may even appear next to a ghostly decoy of herself.

Keep your back to a wall or a teammate, and don’t rely on armor against a Stalker that flanks you.

    Background

Horzine Biotech tried to create an agent that could infiltrate enemy lines unnoticed and extract needed information. The first DNA source used to create Stalkers was the daughter of Kevin Clamely — the head of the company and the future Patriarch.
