Classic
The classic Killing Floor experience: team up, survive 7 waves of monsters, spend your cash at the trader between waves, and take down the Patriarch on the final wave. It’s the mode everything else is built on — easy to learn, deep to master.
We run Classic across six servers, one per difficulty. Progress and perks are shared between all of them, so pick the difficulty that matches your level and move up as you get stronger.
How to play
- Survive each wave, then shop at the trader during the break
- Spend money on weapons, ammo, armor and grenades
- Stick with your team — splitting up gets people killed
- Beat the Patriarch on the final wave to win the map
Difficulty levels
Beginner — recommended perk levels 0-25
For brand-new players still figuring the game out. Weak zeds and a gentle pace.
Normal — recommended perk levels 15-50
A steady, comfortable pace once you know the basics.
Hard — recommended perk levels 25-50
Tougher zeds and the Brute joins the roster. For players who have beaten at least one Patriarch.
Suicidal — recommended perk levels 50-75
Fast, aggressive waves that demand real teamwork.
Hell on Earth — recommended perk levels 75+
The classic top difficulty: heavy zeds, mini-bosses, and very little room for error.
Impossible — recommended perk levels 100+
Our hardest survival tier, a step beyond Hell on Earth. Expect maximum monster health and damage, the most aggressive spawns, and mini-bosses throughout. Built for veteran, well-coordinated teams — even strong players will struggle here on their own.
Good to know
- 7 waves plus a Patriarch finale on every difficulty
- One trader opens after each wave
- Higher difficulty pays more points per kill (Normal x1, Hard x1.5, Suicidal x2, Hell on Earth x3)
- Standard zeds on the lower tiers; Brutes and mini-bosses are added as difficulty rises
